“But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him” Isaiah 53:5
What you just read is about when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, took your sins and the punishment of your sins when he was beaten, crucified and died on the cross for you. Jesus, who never sinned, did this by free will out of love for you.
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:9-10
God can now forgive you your sins, because Jesus took the punishment of your sins on the cross. On the third day Jesus rose from the dead and lives forevermore.
A. YOU CAN BE RECONCILED TO GOD THROUGH JESUS
1) TURN AWAY FROM SIN AND TURN TO GOD
“The Lord...is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
2 Peter 3:9
“we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”
2 Cor. 5:20
2) BELIEVE (TRUST) IN JESUS
“To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him (Jesus) shall receive remission of sins.” Acts 10:43
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved (rescued from going to hell)” Acts 16:31
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (with God in heaven).” John 3:16
Where you are right now, you can also with your own words pray to God. You can speak with God freely from your heart, about your desire to be reconciled to him.
Consider how wonderful Jesus is, who has made it possible for you to have your sins forgiven and to be reconciled to God. Why not thank Jesus?
B. LIVING AS A FOLLOWER OF JESUS
Read and live according to the Bible. You can start to read the second part of the Bible, called the New Testament and also speak with God in prayer. You can also try to find a local church where you can share your faith and fellowship with others.
Being a follower of Jesus is a lifestyle. When you walk with him, he wants to teach and help you to walk in the way of God, until you one day come home to God in heaven.
God bless you. (What you have read is the classical Christian message called the gospel. Words in brackets in Bible verses are explanations).
